CHECK-IN, CHECK-OUT POLICY
Check-in hours are by arrangement. We are a small, boutique bed & breakfast, not a hotel. We do not have a 24/7 front desk. It is important you give us your arrival hour, and update us if it changes. Like most people, our innkeeper goes grocery shopping, visits the gym, and occasionally gets a haircut, and cannot always be at the B&B. If you do not communicate your arrival hour to us with enough advance notice, you may not be able to enter the property or check in, until the innkeeper is available. We understand planes get delayed, trains get derailed, and traffic is unpredictable. Please just let us know when that happens. Check-in is available beginning at 3:00pm. We are happy to hold your bags if you arrange with us to arrive earlier than 3:00pm. Check-in hours end at 6:00 pm, but we can arrange to leave your keys for you in our secure lockbox if you have a late arrival. Check-out is at 11:00 am, but we are happy to hold bags for you if you’d like to depart later in the day. Please note that we cannot be held liable for personal belongings.
DEPOSIT POLICY
A deposit equal to your first night’s stay with us, including tax, is required upon booking.
CANCELLATION POLICY
For non-peak reservations made on our website, the full balance of your stay, including taxes, will be charged to your credit card 14 days prior to your check-in date, after which there are no refunds. If you booked with us via a third-party website (such as Booking.com, Priceline, etc.), the cancellation policy will be that which you agreed to upon booking on the third-party website. When any party reserves 3 or more rooms with us, the full balance of the stay, including taxes, will be charged 30 days prior to the check-in date, after which there are no refunds. For peak reservation dates (over New Year's, Mardi Gras, French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, 4th of July, Labor Day Weekend, Halloween, Voodoo Fest, Thanksgiving, and Christmas), the full balance of your stay, including taxes, will be charged to your card 30 days prior to your check-in date, after which there are no refunds. We encourage guests to purchase travel insurance if they have concerns about needing a last-minute cancellation. We wish we could get that kind of insurance for the B&B, but it doesn’t exist, and that’s why we have our cancellation policy. No refunds will be given for early departures. Changes or cancellations may be made either via email or phone. Please retain our return email to you as your proof of change or cancellation.
FORMS OF PAYMENT
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diner's Club. We do not accept cash or checks. There is a $20 property service fee you may see on third-party travel websites. This fee is waived for guests who book directly with us, through this website. Thank you for your loyalty … support small businesses, and book direct!
RATES & MINIMUM STAY REQUIREMENTS
Rates and minimum stay requirements vary according to room, season, holiday, and availability. Please go to our “reservations” tab and enter your dates for specifics.
CHILDREN & PETS
No animals or children under the age of 12 are permitted either in the B&B or on the grounds. Guests arriving with either will not be permitted to check in, and no refunds will be given.
SMOKING & VAPING
Smoking and vaping are permitted outdoors on our comfortable covered porch, and in our courtyard. No smoking or vaping indoors. If evidence of smoking or vaping anywhere inside is found, the person who made the reservation will have their credit card charged a $250 cleaning fee. Anyone smoking or vaping inside may be evicted without refund.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
Please refer to the maximum occupancy listed for each room. Because of fire regulations, occupancy limits are strictly enforced. We cannot permit more occupants in a room than those allowed by law.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Auld Sweet Olive B&B is a historic home built in the 1850s, and is not ADA compliant. All the guest rooms are on the ground floor, which is accessed by 5 steps. The Courtyard Suite has 3 steps that lead from the bedroom to the suite's kitchenette and bathroom. There are no wheelchair ramps, shower bars, or other assistive devices. OUTSIDE GUESTS/EVENTS/DECORATIONS
Auld Sweet Olive is a small B&B located in a charming residential neighborhood. Events, parties and loud gatherings that are not specifically coordinated through our Events Team are not allowed. Guests who disturb other guests or neighbors will be asked to leave and will not be provided a refund. Due to the intimate nature of our property, gatherings that include non-resident guests require the innkeepers’ prior approval. Decorations are permitted for full house rentals and events only. There is absolutely, positively NO confetti or glitter allowed. Cleaning fees will apply in the event residual glitter is found in rooms or common spaces.
MISCELLANEOUS
Reservations are not transferable. The replacement cost of any items on the property that are damaged or removed will be charged to the credit card of the person who made the reservation. No candles, lanterns, incense, or any type of flame are allowed in the B&B. The use of illegal drugs is not permitted and will result in eviction with no refund. No firearms are allowed on the premises. Excessive noise, or disruptive, unsafe, or illegal behavior will not be tolerated and will result in eviction with no refund given. We are committed to the safety and comfort of our guests, as well as our neighbors. Remember the Golden Rule.
